A. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
The Friday, March 16, 2018 special meeting of the Lombard Board of
Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 7:45 a.m. in the Lombard
Village Hall Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois
60148.
B. Roll Call of Members

C. Approval of Minutes
It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to approve the minutes from the regular meeting
on February 23, 2018. Motion carried.
D. Public Participation
E. Payment of Bills
The Board received Invoice# 00064203-00 from Elmhurst Occupational
Health in the amount of $1,100 for medical testing done for the hiring of 3
fire candidates. It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski,
seconded by Secretary, Kyle Dolan to approve payment of the bill.
Motion carried.

I. Correspondence
The Board received a copy of a memorandum from Village Manager,
Scott Niehaus authorizing the hiring of 2 police officers.
J. Unfinished Business
K. New Business
Chief Sander discussed changing the firefighter hiring process. He is
proposing a situation awareness test. This will eliminate the oral
interviews that we do ourselves at the Village. We would charge for the
application process. The orientation and written test would be done on
the same day. Chief Sander will have this proposal presented by the
company at next months meeting.
The Board approved the police department to proceed with the hiring of
2 more police officers.

It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to recess to executive session at 7:50 a.m.
Motion carried.

It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to extend final offers of employment to police
candidates, Aleksander Barylowicz, Sean Poindexter and Laura
Shemsiu. Motion carried.
It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to send letters of denial of employment to 3
firefighter candidates. Motion carried.
It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to extend a conditional offer of employment to
firefighter candidate, Jack Trimble. Motion carried.
It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to proceed with background investigations for 2
firefighter candidates. Motion carried.

It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary, Kyle Dolan to adjourn the special meeting of the Lombard
Board of Fire and Police Commissioners at 8:07 a.m. Motion carried.
