Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Wednesday, July 14, 2021 special meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Village of Lombard Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois 60148. B. Roll Call of Members Present: Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey Secretary, Kyle Dolan Guests: Fire Chief, Rick Sander Deputy Chief Fire, Ray Kickert Human Resources Director, Kathleen Dunne Fire Administrative Coordinator, Sheila York Police Administrative Coordinator, Barbara Blankenship C. Approval of Minutes It was moved by Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve the minutes from the regular meeting on May 27, 2021 and the special meeting on June 18, 2021. Motion carried. D. Public Participation E. Payment of Bills The Board received Invoice#41778 in the amount of $298.00 from The Blue Line for advertising for lateral police officer; Invoice#'s 4434, 4435, 4389, 4390, 4354 totaling $2187.50 from Conrad Polygraph for polygraphs for police and firefighter candidates; Invoice#'s SA000047135 and SA000047382 totaling $1,930.00 for personality evaluations for police and firefighter candidates; and Invoice#'s 00135731, 00136754,00136755, 00137533, 00137689, 00138329 totaling $3,953.00 for pre-employment medical testing for police and firefighter candidates. It was moved by Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve payment of all bills. Motion carried. Correspondence The Board received a copy of a memorandum from Police Lt. Jim Kohl addressed to Police Chief Newton regarding the 2 year completion of Officer Matthew Kazy-Garey's probation period; Notice of retirement from Police Officer Garrett Klunk; copy of a memorandum from Police Chief Roy Newton to Village Manager Scott Niehaus requesting approval for promotions and to fill police officer vacancies; and a copy of a memorandum from Village Manager Scott Niehaus addressed to Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski asking for authorization to proceed with the hiring of two police officers and to promote one police lieutenant and one police sergeant. J. Unfinished Business It was moved by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey, seconded by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski to approve the Final Fire Battalion Chief Eligibility List. Motion carried.
