The motion passed by a unanimous vote. 5.0 Old Business 140237 Senior Fair 2014 Senior Fair Wrap-up. Communications Coordinator Bridget Doyle passed out the final Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes September 9, 2014 information regarding Senior Fair 2014. The Committee reviewed the final list of vendors and day-of logistics. 6.0 New Business 140357 2014 Senior of the Year Award Review applications for Senior of the Year and make a decision on this year's recipient. The Committee had received the 2014 Senior of the Year nominations in advance of the meeting and were to decide this year’s Senior or Seniors of the year. Since there were multiple male and female nominees, the committee decided to go back to having both a male and a female winner for the 2014 Senior of the Year. Committee member Sharon Vish knew she would be absent from the meeting, so she asked her vote for this year’s winners to be read aloud at the meeting. Bridget Doyle read Vish’s nominations aloud to the group, and her votes were for Barbara Barta and Wallace Johnson. The Committee went around the table discussing the nominees and came to a consensus as a group that Barbara Barta and Wallace Johnson were the two candidates of choice for this year’s winners. The committee took an informal vote and it was unanimous that Barbara Barta and Wallace Johnson were this year’s winners. 7.0 Other Business None. 8.0 Information Only Committee Member Pam Bedard wanted to make a comment to the committee. Pam said she went to the video gaming establishment Stella’s in Villa Park on a recent Friday and wasn’t sure “what everyone was so afraid of” in Lombard. Pam said there were five machines, free baked goods and free beer and wine. She went and used a $20 card she had with another couple and it was just entertainment. It wasn’t crowded, she said. 9.0 Adjournment A motion was made by Michael Ledonne, seconded by Gladys Piper to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 p.m. The motion passed by a unanimous vote.
