Village Hall Village of Lombard 255 East Wilson Ave. Lombard, IL 60148 villageoflombard.org Minutes Community Relations Committee Trustee Dan Militello - Chairperson Trustee Bill Ware - Alternate Chairperson, Pamela Bedard, Ahmed Ali, Michael Ledonne, Sharon Vish, Barb Ware, Gladys Piper, Anthony Pacilli and Kristen Kielma Staff Liaison - Avis Meade Monday, September 9, 2019 7:00 PM Trustees Conference Room 1.0 Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Dan Militello at 7:02 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dan Militello. 2.0 Roll Call Present 6 - Dan Militello, Pamela Bedard, Sharon Vish, Ahmed Ali, Barbara Ware, and Gladys Piper Absent 2 - Michael Ledonne, and Anthony Pacilli Also present: Avis Meade, staff liaison 3.0 Public Participation None. 4.0 Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Ahmed Ali, seconded by Gladys Piper, to approve the minutes of the August 12, 2019, committee meeting. The motion was approved by unanimous vote. 5.0 Old Business 190129 Senior Fair 2019 Staff will provide an update related to the 2019 Senior Fair event, scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at the Madison Meadow Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes September 9, 2019 Athletic Center. Staff provided an update to the 2019 Senior Fair event and senior fair vendor counts. Committee members were encouraged to attend to assist in the event. The Committee requested signage at the location, identifying the location on the day of the event. 6.0 New Business 190383 2019 Senior of the Year Nominations Nominations for the 2019 Senior of the Year will be considered by the Committee. One Senior Man and one Senior Woman of the Year will be selected as this year's winners. The Committee voted to select Rita Schneider and Michael “Mickey” Rodgers as the 2019 Senior Woman and Senior Man of the Year. All nominees will be notified of the results and they will be publicly announced at the Senior Fair on October 2, 2019. 190384 2020 Youth Leadership Program The Committee will review a potential schedule for the 2020 Youth Leadership Program. The committee is being tasked to consider potential changes to the program due to lack of interest and cancellation of the 2019 program. The Committee considered options for the future of the Youth Leadership Program. The recommendation was made to revise the program from a structured and scheduled meeting schedule, to small groups of students as the Village has requested. Village Staff will continue to provide guidance and leadership to students interested in local government. 7.0 Other Business None. 8.0 Information Only None. 9.0 Adjournment A motion was made by Pam Bedard, seconded by Barb Ware, to adjourn the meeting at 7:51 p.m. The motion was approved by a unanimous vote.
