Village Hall Village of Lombard 255 East Wilson Ave. Lombard, IL 60148 villageoflombard.org Minutes Community Relations Committee Trustee Jessica Hammersmith - Chairperson Trustee Dan Militello - Alternate Chairperson, Pamela Bedard, Michael Ledonne, Sharon Vish, Gladys Piper, Kaveria Lezza, Megan McVane, Madison Smith, Tereasa Banks and Lindsey Khan Staff Liaison: Stephanie Calvillo Monday, November 10, 2025 6:00 PM Village Hall Community Room 1.0 Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jessie Hammersmith at 6:01 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Sharon Vish. 2.0 Roll Call Present 7 - Jessica Hammersmith, Pamela Bedard, Kaveria Lezza, Sharon Vish, Michael Ledonne, Madison Smith, and Lindsey Khan Absent 3 - Megan McVane, Gladys Piper, and Tereasa Banks Also present: Trevor Dick, Economic Development Director and Stephanie Calvillo, Communications Coordinator. 3.0 Public Participation 4.0 Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Pam Bedard, seconded by Madison Smith, to approve the minutes of the October 13, 2025 committee meeting. The motion passed by unanimous vote. Michael Ledonne did not vote as he had not yet arrived. 5.0 Unfinished Business Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes November 10, 2025 6.0 New Business 250388 Victim Services Contract - Association for Individual Development (A.I.D.) The Village contracts with the Association for Individual Development (A.I.D.) to provide support services to employees and community members experiencing a crisis. A.I.D. offers crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, education, and referral services for victims of crime or trauma, as well as witnesses and affected community members. The Community Relations Committee will review program usage for 2025 and consider the proposed 2026 Victim Services Contract. Staff presented an overview of the Village’s Victim Services Program and the proposed contract renewal with the Association for Individual Development (A.I.D.). Committee members expressed strong support for continuing the program and noted the significant value it provides to residents and employees during times of crisis. Members suggested increasing communication about the availability of these services to raise public awareness. A question was asked regarding whether Police and Fire personnel also have access to direct mental health support resources, and staff confirmed that they do. The Committee agreed to move forward with recommending renewal of the Victim Services contract. A motion was made by Madison Smith, seconded by Sharon Vish, to approve the Victim Services Contract with A.I.D. to the Board of Trustees for approval. The motion passed unanimously. Michael Ledonne did not vote as he had not yet arrived. 7.0 Other Business Michael Ledonne arrived to the meeting. 8.0 Information Only “What’s Happening At…” Development StoryMap Economic Development Director Trevor Dick presented the Lombard Development: “What’s Happening At…” storymap, an interactive online tool that provides current updates on development projects throughout the Village. Committee members expressed appreciation for the information and noted that the tool is an excellent resource for staying informed about development activity in town. A question was raised about how to access the StoryMap through the Village website, and members suggested exploring a more prominent placement on the home page. Staff will review options and consider adding it to the Village of Lombard Page 2 Community Relations Committee Minutes November 10, 2025 Popular Links section. Veterans Day Ceremony Staff shared details about the upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. Due to the cold weather forecast, the event has been moved indoors to Village Hall. Committee members were invited to attend. Lombard Fire Department Toy Drive and Parade Staff provided information on the Lombard Fire Department’s 24th Annual Toy Drive, taking place from November 28th through December 12th. The Toy Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 13th at 10:30 a.m. along Main Street from St. Charles Road to Wilson Avenue. Residents are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and baby supplies to support local families in need. Lombard Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association Fundraiser Member Madison Smith shared that she is part of the Lombard Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, which is hosting a fundraiser to support the upcoming Shop with a Cop event. Community members who dine at Triano’s Pizza on Thursday, November 13th and mention the LCPAAA can help contribute as the restaurant will donate 25 percent of sales. 9.0 Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made by Michael Ledonne, seconded by Sharon Vish, at 6:46 p.m. The motion to adjourn passed unanimously. The drive will conclude with a Toy Parade on Saturday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m., traveling along Main Street from St. Charles Road to Wilson Avenue.
