Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
Chairperson Schneider called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.
Chairperson Schneider led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Absent 2 - Richard Anstee, and Jack Jones
Also present: William J. Heniff, Director of Community Development
and Tami Urish, Planner I, Staff Liaison.
Approval of Minutes
On a motion by Commissioner Poskocil, and seconded by Commissioner
Myers, the minutes of the April 18, 2017 were approved with noted corrections.
The motion passed by a unanimous vote.
Public Participation
There were no members of the public present.
Chairman's Remarks
Chairperson Schneider thanked Commissioner Myers and Sarah
Richardt for their work on the new placards that accompany each of

the prints on display in the Community Room. Also, Commissioner
Myers is the author of a new column in the Telegraph, the Historical
Society’s quarterly newsletter. The topic in her current article was the
difference between the Historical Society and the Historic Preservation
Commission.
Chairperson Schneider announced that she had received the
resignation of two Commissioners, Richard Anstee and Jack Jones.
Suggested replacements are welcome from other Commissioners and
posting through the Village was discussed. Mr. Heniff stated that
other Commissions and Committees have openings and the Village
will coordinate a comprehensive outreach.
Commissioner Schneider asked staff if it would be possible to be
assigned a Village Board liaison. Mr. Heniff responded that he will
look into an arrangement.
Commissioner Schneider distributed a draft agenda for the meeting
being hosted for Illinois Landmarks on May 13, 2017.
Commissioner Schneider stated that she invited Mr. Heniff to the
meeting in order to discuss the McKee House. The house located at
889 W. St. Charles Road is on the Landmarks Illinois List of
Endangered Buildings and is identified in the latest Village of Lombard
Architectural and Historical Survey. The Commissioners discussed
the topic covering the location, the boundary agreement with the
Village of Glen Ellyn and the proposed fundraising effort on the part of
a Glen Ellyn group.
Reports
A. Local Landmarks - Eileen Mueller
Commissioner Mueller reported that the recognition of the Illinois
Prairie Path signs will be Friday, April 28th at 10 a.m. at the Main
Street location. Commissioner Mueller reported that the recognition
for local landmark plaque for 128-132 W. St. Charles Road will be May
3rd at 10 a.m.
B. Finance - Richard Anstee
Chairperson Schneider stated that she plans to communicate with Ms.
Heabel to coordinate items until a new chairperson for this committee
is installed.

C. Personnel - Pat Poskocil
Commissioner Poskocil reported that the personnel are performing
optimally.
D. Ex-Officio Report - Jennifer Henaghan
Commissioner Henaghan reported that the Historical Society is
holding a raffle and tickets are now on sale for the capital campaign
which includes the Peck House foundation repairs. The Education
Coordinator has resigned for a different opportunity. Linda Dixon was
hired for the position and started on March 28, 2017. New fences
have been installed at both the Victorian Cottage and the Peck House.
Commissioner Henaghan stated that she will be resigning as the
Historical Society President and from the LHS Board of Management.
E. Lombard Cemetery - Tom Fetters
Commissioner Fetters reported that the cemetery cleanup is
scheduled for May 13, 2017.
F. National Register Work for Sheldon Peck Homestead
No report.
G. Heritage Award - Lyn Myers
No report.
H. Historical Survey, 2016
Chairperson Schneider requested that all the Commissioners review
the draft survey that was included in their packets last week. The
Commissioners discussed ways in which the survey could be
searchable and user friendly.
