Roll Call Present 7 - Rita Schneider, Tom Fetters, Eileen Mueller, Brigitte O'Brien, Patricia Poskocil, Bob Wardzala, and Jason Sanders Absent 4 - Lyn Myers, Marcy Novak, Stephanie Zabela, and Lynn O'Donnell Also present: Ed Seagraves, Ex-Officio; Alison Costanzo, Executive Director; Elizabeth Brezinski, Village Clerk and Tami Urish, Planner I, Staff Liaison Business Meeting Approval of Minutes The minutes of the meeting on April 20, 2021 were approved with no changes. The motion was made by Commissioner Wardzala and seconded by Commissioner Poskocil and passed by a unanimous vote with an individual roll call. Chairman's Report Memorial for Jack Jones, former Commissioner, will be held on July 31 at 10 am at St John’s Lutheran Church, Lombard IL. Memorial for Tom Masterson, former award recipient, will be held on September 5 at 3 pm at Mt St Mary Park, St Charles IL Reports A. Local Landmarks - Eileen Mueller Commissioner Mueller stated that the formal presentation of the plaque for 515 N. West Road will be held on July 24th. B. Finance - Jason Sanders Commissioner Sanders stated the Museum/Peck House/Cemetery account is 15% under budget Village of Lombard Page 1 Lombard Historic Preservation Minutes July 20, 2021 Commission C. Personnel - Pat Poskocil Commissioner Poskocil reported Jean had resigned and there is consideration underway to reorganize the museum staff. D. Ex-Officio Report - Ed Seagraves Mr. Seagraves provided an update of the Historical Society’s activities: · The Victorian Cottage opened for tours on July 3rd. · The Peck House has a new exhibit “From Pioneer to Cinderella: The Evolution of the Modern Wedding Dress”. · The Peck family recently donated some personal items. · The virtual housewalk is still available on the website. E. Heritage Award - Lyn Meyers No report at this time. F. Certified Local Government Commissioner Sanders shared that the grant agreement was finalized and returned to the State. An individual has been selected to design the brochure for the local landmark process. Projects for next year’s grant application could be continuing the historic survey or a site for the National Register. G. Cemetery Chairperson Schneider stated that a list was compiled for tasks to be completed at the cemetery grounds. H. Carriage House Addition - Ed Seagraves and Alison Costanzo Mr. Seagraves reported that the addition project appeared before the Plan Commission on July 19, 2021 with a recommendation of approval for the Board of Trustees’ consideration at their August 19 meeting. The plan is to put the project out to bid late August with selection of a company on September 24. The options of moving the Plum shed/chicken coop or keeping it in place were explained. Chairperson Schneider requested that Mr. Seagraves update the Commission on the project’s progression by email to her. Village of Lombard Page 2 Lombard Historic Preservation Minutes July 20, 2021 Commission Planner's Report Ms. Urish stated that the Green Valley Station sign located at the Prairie Path and Brewster Avenue had been vandalized and had been recently repaired and replaced.
