Chairperson's Report - Rita Schneider
Chairperson Schneider reported that the Historic Preservation
Commission’s webpage of the Village’s website has been updated with
the exception of the Local Landmark map. Revisions to the Local
Landmark map were discussed for staff direction. The Lombard
Historical Society requested staff prepare a similar map for honorary
plaques throughout the Village.
Chairperson Schneider reported that Ordinance 8066 for local
landmark status for 245 W Maples Street will not be corrected. The
Village Attorney determined that the Historic Preservation Commission
no longer had jurisdiction over the final wording. At issue is whether the
structure was moved in December of 1960 or January of 1961. The fact
that the building was the rectory for Sacred Heart and moved to its
present location is important, but the exact date of the move is not,
especially since the uncertainty deals with a period of less than 30
days.
