Roll Call Present 6 - Rita Schneider, Tom Fetters, Eileen Mueller, Lyn Myers, Patricia Poskocil, and Stephanie Zabela Absent 4 - Brigitte O'Brien, Bob Wardzala, Jason Sanders, and Lynn O'Donnell Also present: Elizabeth Brezinski, Village Clerk, Board Liaison; Ed Seagraves, Ex-Officio and Tami Urish, Planner I, Staff Liaison Public Hearings Public Participation Business Meeting Approval of Minutes The July 19, 2022 meeting minutes were approved with noted corrections. The motion was made by Commissioner Fetters and seconded by Commissioner Mueller and passed by all aye votes with an individual roll call. Chairperson's Report Chairperson Schneider reported that candidates are being sought to fill the late Commissioner Novak’s vacated position. Recommendations are welcome. Commissioner Poskocil suggested an educational item in Commissioner Novak’s name. Commissioner Mueller suggested that the Lombard Historical Society should notify memorial donations to the family with a note so that they are aware of the kindness. More people would likely donate if this process was in place. Mr. Seagraves said he would install this procedure. Memorial funds are regulated to the general fund. Donations could be included in the newsletter as an additional idea. Commissioner Reports Village of Lombard Page 1 Lombard Historic Preservation Minutes October 18, 2022 Commission A. Local Landmarks Committee - Eileen Mueller The presentation of the plaque on October 20th was discussed and expected to be in the October 24th edition of the Lombardian. B. Finance - Jason Sanders Concern and discussion were raised by Commissioners over the condition of the roof on 23 W. Maple’s Victorian Cottage building. The expense of a new roof should be under Public Work’s budget. No donations are specifically allocated to the roof. C. Personnel - Pat Poskocil Commissioner Poskocil reported personnel is doing a marvelous job. D. Heritage Award - Lyn Myers No Report E. Certified Local Government - Jason Sanders Chairperson Schneider distributed final brochures. F. Cemetery - Rita Schneider Chairperson Schneider reported on landscaping plans. The Commission plans to participate in the “Wreaths Across America” for veterans graves in December. G. Ex-Officio Report - Ed Seagraves and Alison Castanzo LHS President Ed Seagraves referenced the attached report.
