Eileen Mueller led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call Present 5 - Jack Jones, Marcy Novak, Tom Fetters, Eileen Mueller, and Jennifer Henaghan Also present: Sergio Ruffolo, Western Remac, Inc. and Tami Urish, staff liaison. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the January 26, 2016 meeting were approved by Commissioner Fetters. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Henaghan. All were in favor, the motion passed. Unfinished Business 130270 Chicago, Aurora and Elgin Railroad/ Prairie Path Discussion relative to Commemorative Signage. The Committee members reviewed the project with Mr. Ruffolo. Mr. Ruffolo indicated that he will contact staff concerning the resolution of the photos scanned using Village copiers. The original size of the signs were discussed and determined to be two feet by three feet as originally agreed upon. The number of legs for the signs would be Village of Lombard Page 1 Lombard Historical Commission Minutes February 3, 2016 determined by what would be required to adequately support each sign. Mr. Ruffolo also explained that the legs are usually painted black, green or brown for ease of inevitable required touch-ups. When the project began, there was an understanding that Public Works would install and maintain the signs. Staff was directed to contact the Illinois Prairie Path non-profit organization for permission to use their logo. Commissioner Novak was able to secure copyright permission from Larry Plachno for the Stewart Avenue photograph. It was suggested that perhaps other photographs in the book should be reviewed in light of this new information. The Committee members reviewed the contents of the folder of memorabilia borrowed from the Historical Society. Staff was directed to scan a variety of tickets and a photo of the Green Valley station taken by Donald MacBean from the Aurora ‘N’ Elgin book by James Johnson. Staff indicated that a copyright search would be needed for the Main Street Station photo that is believed to predate 1923. New Business No new business was discussed. Adjournment On a motion by Commissioner Fetters and seconded by Commissioner Henaghan, the meeting was adjourned at 10:50 am. Village of Lombard Page 2
