Trustee Bachner called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

4.0 Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Bob Corbino, seconded by John Larkin, Jr., that the
Minutes of the April 3, 2024 meeting be approved. The motion carried
unanimously.
5.0 Unfinished Business
An Ordinance Amending Article XIII of the Lombard Traffic Code to
Add Parking Prohibitions on Central Avenue
A Recommendation from the Public Safety & Transportation Committee
to amend the Ordinance amending Article XIII of the Lombard Traffic
Code to prohibit on the north side of Central Avenue from Stewart
Avenue to Grace Street. (District #6)
Mike Barbier presented the recommendation. He presented the photos taken
to illustrate the bottleneck that occurs when there is parking on both sides of
the street. Letters to residents were sent out and no resident feedback was
received regarding the proposed changes. The Committee discussed and
was in favor of recommending the changes.
A motion was made by John Larkin, Jr., seconded by Gary Cation, that this
Ordinance be recommended to the Board of Trustees. The motion passed by a
unanimous vote.

Fire Department Reports/Information
June 2025
Deputy Chief Hyland presented the report. The new Deputy Chief, Nathan
Gac, started with the Department on April 15. Two new firefighters accepted

final offers and will start with the Department in May. FFPM Plunge is officially
on shift and will be taking his paramedic test soon. Applications are open for
the next firefighter/paramedic test.
Police Department Reports/Information
Sgt. Balsitis presented the monthly report. Two new policemen graduated the
Suburban Law Enforcement Academy on Friday, April 26. Two more officers
began at the Academy on April 29 and will train for 16 weeks. A new
Community Service Officer is currently in training and the Department is
hiring another. The Police Department is fully staffed at this time with the
hiring of the new officers. The Committee discussed the monthly report and
their concerns regarding accidents and panhandling in the community.
DuPage County Mental Health Pilot Program Update
Sgt. Balsitis presented the program to the Committee. He provided an
update on the Department's intentions and goals with the program. The
Department hopes to have it up and running by September 1. This
program is currently in use by the DuPage County Sheriff's Department
and has been successful.

A motion was made by Gary Cation, seconded by Jennifer Perkins, that the
meeting be adjourned at 7:14pm. The motion carried unanimously.
