Gerhardt Community Room Special Meeting Board of Trustees Village President Keith Giagnorio, Village Clerk Liz Brezinski Trustee Brian LaVaque, Trustee Anthony Puccio, Trustee Bernie Dudek, Trustee Andrew Honig, Trustee Dan Militello and Trustee Bob Bachner Special Meeting Board of Trustees Minutes June 3, 2021 I Call to Order The Special Meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lombard held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Community Room of the Lombard Village Hall was called to order at 5:00 pm by Village President Keith Giagnorio. II Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Director of Public Works Carl Goldsmith. III Roll Call Present 8 - Keith Giagnorio, Liz Brezinski, Brian LaVaque, Anthony Puccio, Bernie Dudek, Andrew Honig, Dan Militello, and Bob Bachner Staff Present: Scott Niehaus, Village Manager Tim Sexton, Director of Finance Bill Heniff, Director of Community Development Carl Goldsmith, Director of Public Works Tom Wirsing, Deputy Chief of Police Richard Sander, Fire Chief Nicole Aranas, Assistant Village Manager Kathy Dunne, HR Director Avis Meade, Communications Coordinator Tom Bayer, Village Attorney Also Present: Craig Rapp, Facilitator IV Public Participation V Agenda 210166 Village of Lombard Strategic Plan Review of, and discussion in regard to, the Village's Current Strategic Plan initiatives, and providing direction in regard to updating the Strategic Plan initiatives. The meeting was opened by discussing the “business” of the village and that there are actually many businesses under one large umbrella of the municipality: police, fire, public works, etc. Identified the different roles Village of Lombard Page 1 Special Meeting Board of Trustees Minutes June 3, 2021 and responsibilities of the board (purpose, direction, success definition, accountability) and the staff (action plans, methods, performance), as well as roles and responsibilities shared by both (perspectives, creation, accountability). The objectives of the village as a business: 1. Deliver great services, and 2. Create great community. The group looked at the priorities that were identified in the previous Strategic Plan Update from 2018-2019 and reviewed the Village vision statement. The group was split into four teams to go over the results of the SWOT analysis. Each group (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) identified the most common responses. Additionally, they identified challenges and how they fit (or not) with the priorities from the previous strategic plan. VI Adjournment A motion was made by Trustee Anthony Puccio, seconded by Trustee Dan Militello, that the Special Meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lombard held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Community Room of the Lombard Village Hall be adjourned at 8:00 pm.
