140261 Stop Sign Request, Intersection of Garfield and LeMoyne
A resident request to install a stop sign. (DISTRICT #4)
Lew reviewed the request. Cation asked what type of advanced
warning signage staff would install. Lew replied that he would install a
T-intersection diagram sign be installed before the hill so drivers
coming over the hill know they will have to turn.
A motion was made by Gary Cation, seconded by John Mullins, that this
Request be denied, but that staff pursue installing advanced warning signage.
The motion passed by an unanimous vote.
140262 Washington Blvd. and Fairfield Ave. Stop Sign Installation
Recommendation of the Transportation and Safety Committee to
change the two-way Stop sign installation to an all-way Stop sign
installation at Washington Boulevard and Fairfield Avenue and to
update the Village ordinance at the above intersection. (DISTRICT #5)
Lew reviewed the request. Corso pointed out that drivers already
have to stop at Grace and Edgewood, and that the Cross Traffic Does
Not Stop sign is pretty clear. It just doesn't seem like it would warrant
a 4-way stop.
A motion was made by Jennifer Perkins, seconded by Gary Cation, that this
Request be recommend to the Board of Trustees for Approval. The motion
carried by the following vote:
Aye: 4- Bob Corbino, Jennifer Perkins, Gary Cation, and John Mullins
Nay: 1- Michael Corso

140263 Westmore-Meyers Speed Study
A request for a speed limit reduction from 30 mph to 25 mph.
(DISTRICT #6)
Lew reviewed the request. Cation asked if they think people will slow
down to 30 if they lower it? Lew answered that that's the general
perception, but that is not how you determine speed limits.
Foltyniewicz commented that with the width of the road, etc, 30 to 35
seems reasonable.
A motion was made by Michael Corso, seconded by Gary Cation, that this
Request be denied . The motion passed by an unanimous vote.
