I. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lombard held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Board
Room of the Lombard Village Hall was called to order by Village
President Keith Giagnorio at 7:00 p.m. Director of Public Works Carl
Goldsmith led the Pledge of Allegiance.

180375 Proclamation - Knights of Columbus
Village President Keith Giagnorio called Richard Clish and members of
the Knights of Columbus to the front.
Village Clerk Sharon Kuderna read the proclamation for the Knights of
Columbus.
Mr. Clish thanked the Village Board for amending the solicitors
ordinance relative to providing additional hours for not-for-profit groups to
be able to conduct fundraising efforts on Village street corners. He also
thanked the President and Board for the proclamation.

A motion was made by Trustee Dan Whittington, seconded by Trustee Mike
Fugiel, that the minutes of the regular meeting of August 16, 2018, the Special

Village Clerk Sharon Kuderna read the following announcements:
There will be a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on September 11th that
will begin promptly at 8:45 am at Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles Road.
Fire Chief Rick Sander and the Fire Department staff will lead a moment
of silence followed by brief comments.
The Village of Lombard and Heartland Blood Centers will host the We
Remember Blood Drive in recognition of the lives that were lost on
September 11, 2011 when terrorists attacked our great country. This
year marks the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The Blood Drive will
be held at Yorktown Entrance 5 by Von Maur from 8:30 am until 1pm and
from 1:30 pm until 7 pm at the Village Hall. All donors will receive a free
Bears long-sleeve t-shirt, a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s frozen
custard, a free entry voucher to Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Fest
and be registered to win a Yorktown gift card. There were so many
heroes on that day and the days and weeks that followed the attacks.
You can be a hero by donating blood. Donating blood is safe, simple

to make an appointment.
The Village is seeking nominations for the 13th Annual Senior of the Year
Awards which recognizes outstanding senior citizens who volunteer or go
above and beyond to positively benefit the Lombard community. Please
visit www.villageoflombard.org/seniorfair for additional information.
Winners will be announced at the Senior Fair on October 3rd.
The Westmore-Meyers Resurfacing and Path Crossing Improvements
Project between Roosevelt and St. Charles Road is scheduled to begin
mid-September. The improvements will include roadway resurfacing and
path crossing improvements at both the Great Western Trail and the
Illinois Prairie Path. Motorists should expect lane closures and travel
delays throughout the duration of the project. For more information visit

The Village’s Recycling Extravaganza is scheduled for Saturday,
September 22 from 9 am until noon at the Village complex. Check the
Village’s website www.villageoflombard.org for information on what is
being accepted at the Recycling Extravaganza.
