1. 22-011CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for the
construction of a two-story, 599-square-foot accessory dwelling unit
(ADU), with a 147-square-foot, first floor and a 452-square-foot second
floor, a portion of which will be constructed above an existing detached
garage on the rear half of the lot which is a contributing property at 3754
Lewis Avenue within the California Heights Historic District. (District 7)
Suggested Action: Approve recommendation.

2. 22-012CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for the
construction of a new detached one-story 1,049-square-foot accessory
structure consisting of an 800-square-foot accessory dwelling unit (ADU)
and an attached 249-square-foot compact, one-car garage at the rear half
of the lot. The primary structure on the property is a Contributing Structure
and no changes are proposed to that structure. The property is located at
3590 Walnut Avenue within the California Heights Historic District. (District
5).
Suggested Action: Approve recommendation.

3. 22-013CH Receive and file a follow-up presentation and conduct a study session to
review existing policies, case studies from other cities, research and best
practices related to whether, or under what circumstances, substitute
materials for windows and siding may be considered in historic districts
and for landmark properties.
Suggested Action: Approve recommendation.
