Minutes Town of Mooresville Historic Preservation Commission June 5, 2025 6:00 PM - Mooresville Town Hall Members Present: Susan Autry, Ben Kennedy, Meghan Black, David Cole, Henry Seyller, Larry Schaeffer, Bill Goodnow Also Present: Planner Parviz Moosavi, Administrative Assistant Lisa Smith, Assistant Town Attorney Carey Austin Members Absent: Patty Cotter 1. Call to Order Chair Henry Seyller called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm. 2. Approval of Agenda ACTION: A motion was made by Bill Goodnow, seconded by David Cole to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Approval of Minutes 3.a Consider approval of May 1st, 2025, HPC Minutes ACTION: A motion was made by Larry Schaeffer, seconded by Ben Kennedy to approve minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Presentations There were no presentations. 5. New Business 5.a Conduct a Public Hearing and vote on whether to recommend the Town Board adopt an ordinance to designate the Rufus Reid Home, also known as the Mount Mourne Plantation, located at 104 Leslie Loop, as a local historic landmark. The applicant, Patricia Crooks, is the owner of the property to be considered: 104 Leslie Loop (PIN 4656103910). Parviz Moosavi presented on behalf of the staff for landmarking the Rufus Reid House. The staff recommends approval. ACTION: A motion was made by Ben Kennedy, seconded by Susan Autry, to recommend the Town Board adopt an ordinance to designate the Rufus Reid Home, also known as the Mount Mourne Plantation, located at 104 Leslie Loop, as a local historic landmark. Motion carried a 6-1 vote. 6. Administrative Provided update on The Town Board Resolution Amending the Historic Preservation and Downtown Design Standard Committee Membership. Parviz Moosavi spoke on July agenda items. 7. Adjournment ACTION: A motion was made by David Cole, seconded by Ben Kennedy, to adjourn the meeting at 6:38 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
