Mundelein Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting November 18, 2024 Minutes CALL TO ORDER Meeting called to order at 0836 ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS TO AGENDA Two positions were up for election. Both Gonzaga and Kornfeind submitted for re-election for their current position. No other candidates were noted. -Both Gonzaga and Kornfeind submitted for re-election and were voted unanimously by membership present. The board then elected to keep membership as it had been the year previous. The membership is as follows: Chief at Large: Lark Chairman: Jones Vice Chairman: Rodewald Secretary: Gonzaga Treasurer: Brimmer At Large: Kornfeind, Kuester ATTENDANCE Bill Lark, Angel Gonzaga, Kurt Rodewald, Brian Jones, Jeremy Lockwood, Marcin Bednarski, Patrick Collins, Michael Akers, Damien Iskra, Gil Rubio, Rylan Marchioni, John Crispe, Jacob Smith, Shawn LaMar, Daniel Buhrmester, Doug Citrano, Tyler Gaunky, Darryl LaForme MINUTES APPROVAL MINUTES APPROVAL Motion to approve minutes for August 19, 2024, made by Lt. Rodewald and seconded by FF Gonzaga. Motion approved REPORTS REPORTS Reflected in the Treasurers' report was the closure of the old bank account on 8/26/24 for fraudulent charges. A new bank account was opened, and funds were transferred appropriately (with a written memorandum). Two items on the treasure report labeled as café fund purchases exceeded the allotted $300.00 dollars allotted for purchases. The board will look further into the matter. Motion to approve the treasury report for the period August 19th to November 17th made by Rodewald, second motion made by Gonzaga. Motion passed. OLD BUSINESS OLD BUSINESS -Fire store was opened for members to purchase items and was closed a few weeks later Nov. 1st. Items purchased are pending shipment. -A deposit is required from the Challenge Coin vendor. Once a deposit is made, the coins will go into production. -Wye valves invoiced and placed into fire apparatus -Rogan’s Shoe store account was opened for members and closed a few weeks later. Pending invoice. -Employee and Alumni dinner took place on Sept. 19th and has been invoiced. -No new updates for station hats or patio furniture. Discussion was tabled for the next meeting. -Station T-shirts were ordered, invoiced and distributed among the department membership. NEW BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS -Motion was made to discuss and train on new foam adapters and Turbo nozzle adapters by membership. Once approved by a majority of members, the board would discuss approving $2100 for the purchase of 2 foam adapters and 4 turbo adapters. -Motion was made to approve $4800 for the purchase of two Storm Sticks, a product for gross decontamination of Structural Firefighting gear on two fire apparatus. Motion was made by Rodewald, second by Lark. All members approved and the motion passed. -Motion was made to approve $1200 for four sets of composite step chocks, one for each fire vehicle. Motion was made by Gonzaga, second by Rodewald. Motion passed. -Motion was made to remove Fitness watches from the agenda. The board will discuss this topic again next year in order to place the option to purchase the watches when the Café fund opens next year. NEXT MEETING - February, 2025 NEXT MEETING - February, 2025 The meeting will be on February 17, 2025.
