Mundelein Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting May 19, 2025 Minutes CALL TO ORDER ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS TO AGENDA Addition to agenda - Sunglasses (Bednarski) ATTENDANCE OFFICERS PRESENT: Bill Lark, Angel Gonzaga, Brian Jones, David Brimmer OFFICERS NOT PRESENT: Joel Kuester, Greg Kornfeind, Kurt Rodewald MEMBERS PRESENT: Patrick Collins, Mike Akers, Jasmin Reichel, Jeremy Lockwood, Gil Rubio, Clifton Englund, Micheal Lord, Jake Ellegood, Damien Iskra, Marcin Bednarski MINUTES APPROVAL MINUTES APPROVAL Motion to approve minutes for February 17th’s meeting made by Gonzaga, seconded by Lark. Motion Approved. REPORTS REPORTS The Treasures Report was not able to be presented due to previous issues with internet services and changes in treasurers. The Board worked with an estimated budget of 100,000 from previous meeting minutes and allotted funding from the last meeting. Motion was made by Brimmer, second by Gonzaga. Motion approved OLD BUSINESS -Challenge coins paid and pending shipment; they are expected to ship the week of the 19th. -No updates were presented for patio furniture. Discussion was tabled for the next meeting. -No updates were presented for station hats. Discussion was tabled for the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS - Kitchen items were tabled for the next meeting.  - Motion was made to purchase a mudflap for engine 4311, like all the other fire apparatus. Motion not to exceed $1,500 was made by Brimmer, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. - Motion was made to approve $3,500 for new LED light towers for 4311, not to exceed the given amount. Motion was made by Brimmer, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. - Motion to approve $16,000 for two sets of battery-powered extrication tools, not to exceed the given amount. Funding for the tools would also come from VOM (Village of Mundelein) budget and an OSFM (Office of the State Fire Marshall) grant. Motion was made by Brimmer, second by Gonzaga. Motion then went to all members present and unanimously passed. - Motion was made to approve $350 for IPPFA retirement guides for all members. Motion was made by Gonzaga, second by Brimmer. Motion passed. - Motion was made to approve $4,500 for a new TIC (thermal imaging camera) for 4334 by Brimmer, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. - Motion was made to approve $2,000 for 40oz Artic water bottles for each member. Motion was made by Brimmer, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. - A group discussion was made about new water refill stations both inside the station and inside the apparatus bay. No motion was made by the board. - Due to rising call volume, the Foreign Fire board lost members and a quorum, so no further items were motioned for funding but were discussed by present members. - Station TVs were discussed by the members present and tabled for the next meeting. - After Fire soap was discussed by the members present and tabled for the next meeting. - Safety sunglasses were discussed and tabled for the next meeting.
