Mundelein Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting November 17, 2025 Minutes CALL TO ORDER ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS TO AGENDA -Correction to the agenda: Two positions were up for election for the Foreign Fire tax board, to be determined by the board once elected. -Safety sunglasses, after fire soap, and station TV's were presented as unfinished business, as these items were discussed in previous meetings. ATTENDANCE OFFICERS PRESENT: Bill Lark, Angel Gonzaga, Joel Kuester, Greg Kornfeind, Kurt Rodewald MEMBERS PRESENT: Patrick Collins, Mike Akers, Jeremy Lockwood, Jake Ellegood, Damien Iskra, Marcin Bednarski, Brad Sashko, Jackie Stone, Steve D’Incognito, Kyle Bittner, Kyle Mule, Fred Meek, Shawn LaMar, Dan Burhmester MINUTES APPROVAL MINUTES APPROVAL Motion to approve minutes for August 18th meeting made by Gonzaga, seconded by Kuester. Motion Approved. REPORTS REPORTS Motion to approve the treasurer’s report from August 18th to November 16th, 2025, made by Kuester, seconded by Gonzaga. Motion approved. OLD BUSINESS -Station hats pending approval of a new design. No other updates were given. -Engine mudflaps for 4311 pending installations from public works. -No updates for Thermal Imaging Cameras were presented. -Motion was made to approve two bay tables and stickers for the amount of $8,000. Vote went to all present and passed, with one vote of opposition. -No motion was made for safety sunglasses. The item to be removed from the agenda -Motion was made to approve $4,500 for two TV's, a sound bar and mounting brackets. Motion was made by Gonzaga, second by Rodewald. Motion passed. -Motion was made to approve $2,000 for After Fire Soap bath dispensers. Motion made by Kornfeind, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS -Presentation was made to all present in regard to a new training facility to be built in Mundelein for the purpose of hosting live fire training. Motion was made to approve $100,000 for the startup cost. Motion was made by Gonzaga, second by Rodewald. The vote went to all present and passed unanimously. -FDIC motion tabled for the next meeting to verify further research into by-laws. -Hand tools tabled for the next meeting, pending funding from the FD budget. -Thermal Imaging Camera tabled, pending funding from the FD budget. -Motion was made to approve $370.82 for reimbursement for FF Sinclair's purchases for the employee picnic. Motion made by Lark, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. -Motion was made to amend the Member allowance plan and substitute it for the Café fund, allowing $300 per member to use for purchases. Motion went to all present and passed unanimously. -Forceable door prop tabled, pending funding for the new training tower. -Motion was made to approve $6,000 for patio furniture set for station 2 made by Rodewald, second by Gonzaga. The vote went to all present and passed unanimously. -Motion was made to approve $5,500 for the Rogan’s Shoe account. Motion made by Rodewald, second by Gonzaga. The vote went to all present and passed unanimously. -Motion was made to approve $1,100 for an EV plug to be placed in the engine. Motion made by Kuester, second by Gonzaga. Motion passed. -Motion was made to purchase two Storm Sticks for $4,950. Motion went to a vote at the board level and at 3-2, the motion did not pass. -Motion was made to purchase a Top Box for Engine 4311. Motion was tabled pending approval from the fire chief. Another motion was made for $500 for a backup camera for 4311. Motion was made by Kuester, second by Gonzaga. That motion passed. -Hose appliances tabled, pending funding from the budget. -Motion was made to approve $1500 for mounting brackets for the electric extrication tools. Motion was made by Kuester, second by Kornfeind. Motion passed. NEW BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Iskra, Kuester and Collins submitted their names for election. In a vote of 15-14-5, the present membership elected Kuester and Collins onto the board. The board then elected the membership as follows: Chief at Large: Lark, Chairman: Rodewald, Vice Chairman: Gonzaga, Secretary: Collins, Treasurer: Brimmer, At Large: Kuester & Kornfeind. NEXT MEETING - Dates to be determined for 2026 Next Meeting on February 16, 2026. ADJOURNMENT Motion to Adjourn the Foreign Fire Tax Board meeting.
