CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by President Humphreys at 5:30pm. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Present were President Humphreys, Trustee Schroeder, Trustee Woodward, Trustee Wied, Trustee Plassmeyer, Alderperson Duelge, Trustee Lissmann, Director Butterfield, Administrative Services Assistant Henderson. Trustee Boylan and Vice President Foundos were excused. Also present were Mayor Petfalski and City Attorney Warchol. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE This meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law on May 15, 2026. PUBLIC COMMENT Tracy Blair, W184S8925 Racine Ave, spoke regarding the 5.19.26 New Business topic “Move Board Meetings to Library Meeting Room 4.” CONSENT AGENDA Trustee Schroeder made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Trustee Woodward seconded. Discussion ensued. Motion passed, all in favor. Approval of Minutes - April 21, 2026 April 2026 Financials PRESIDENTS REPORT 1 DIRECTOR'S REPORT May 2026 Director's Report UNFINISHED BUSINESS Discussion update and possible action may be taken on any or all of the following: NEW BUSINESS Discussion update and possible action may be taken on any or all of the following: Discussion/Approval: Move Board Meetings to Library Meeting Room 4 Alderperson Duelge made a motion to discuss and approve moving Board meetings to Library Meeting Room 4. Trustee Lissmann seconded. Discussion ensued with input from Mayor Rick Petfalski and City Attorney Jeffrey Warchol. Trustee Lissmann moved to amend the original motion to move Board meetings to City Hall beginning in June 2026 and to reevaluate the meeting location in January 2027. Alderperson Duelge seconded. Motion passed to amend, all in favor. Discussion ensued. The vote on the amendment passed, all in favor. Discussion: 2027-2031 Five Year Capital Budget Plan Review Director Butterfield reviewed the 2027-2031 Five Year Capital Budget Plan and solicited input from the Board to assist with planning. A final plan will be presented to the Board for approval at a later meeting. Discussion: 2026 Action Plan Status Update Director Butterfield presented the 2026 Action Plan Status Update for a midyear update and review. Discussion/Action: Approval of Certification of Waukesha County Library Standards Certification Trustee Lissmann made a motion to approve the Waukesha County Library Standards Certification. Trustee Woodward seconded. Motion passed, all in favor. Discussion/Action: Nomination of Annual Library Board Officer Positions - President, Vice President, and Treasurer Trustee Schroeder made a motion to approve the slate of officers submitted by the Nominating Committee. Trustee Wied seconded. The floor was opened to other nominations. After hearing none, the motion passed all in favor to elect Michelle Humphreys as President, Kerry Foundos as Vice President and Timothy Boylan as Treasurer. Discussion: 2026 Library Board President Committee Appointments – Article V, Section 1 Bylaws President Humphreys appointed Trustee Plassmeyer to the Personnel Committee. President Humphreys appointed Trustee Wied and Trustee Woodward to the Strategic Planning Committee. 2  Discussion/Action: Selection of Library Board Meeting Dates and Times (2026-2027) Trustee Woodward made a motion to continue to hold Library Board Meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month beginning at 5:30pm. Trustee Schroeder seconded. Motion passed, all in favor. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW New Trustee Gary Plassmeyer was introduced and welcomed. Board members and Library staff in attendance introduced themselves. ADJOURNMENT Alderperson Duelge made a motion to adjourn. Trustee Plassmeyer seconded. Motion passed, all in favor. Meeting adjourned at 7:00pm.
