CITY OF NAMPA Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee City Hall – 411 Third Street South May 11, 2023 4:00 PM Call to Order Roll Call (1) Minutes 1-1. Meeting Minutes February 9, 2023 ( 2 ) Announcements 1. Committee staff member Officer Marvin Curtis has retired. Officer Tim Onofrei will now be representing the Nampa Police Department on the Committee. Officer Onofrei is a school resource officer. 2. 2023 Committee Officers: Chair – Kasey Ketterling, Vice Chair – Philip Peterson, and Secretary – Chasity Andreason. Going forward we will elect new officers at the January meeting of every year. 3. Staff met with COMPASS regarding the installation of permanent counters. 2 NUMINA counters will be installed at 12th Ave Rd and Lake Lowell, to capture the entire intersection. Eco counters will be installed at 2nd St & the Stoddard Pathway and at Franklin Blvd & the Grimes Pathway. (3) Education 3-1. Upcoming COMPASS Webinars: May 17: Active Mobility for Older Adult Communities through Planning and Implementation June 21: More than a cycle lane: How investment in better walking and cycling networks improves accessibility for people with disabilities July 19: Evolution of Bikeways: How Cities Have Progressed with the Ever-changing Design Guidance and Research August 16: Systemic Safety: From Analysis to Implementation September 20: Community-led Temporary Demonstrations & Partnerships October 18: Title is TBA (topic is accessibility) November 15: How to keep a statewide plan off the shelf; pedestrian planning in Minnesota December 20: Lighter, Faster, Drier: Beyond Quick-Build Towards Resilient Treatments for High-Quality Active Transportation Infrastructure ( 4 ) Discussion Items 1. Enforcement of snow removal on pedestrian routes (i.e., sidewalks in front of businesses) Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee Regular Meeting May 11, 2023 2. Providing safe bicycle parking at all polling locations (5) New Business 5-1. 2023 Public Works Asset Management Program Schedule (presented by Clemente Salinas) 5-2.
