CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairman David Blaydes and attendance was taken by Julie Mendoza-Morris B. ROLL CALL: Liaison Police Deputy Chief Arres Liaison Fire Deputy Fire Chief Scheller HR Assistant Julie Mendoza-Morris Present 3- David Blaydes, Kim Widup, and Mark Wright Absent 2- Ronald Davidson, and Kirsten Young C. PUBLIC FORUM: D. OLD BUSINESS: Canceled BOFP meeting April 9 next meeting will be April 16 E. NEW BUSINESS: Review open session minutes from March 12, 2019 This Report was approved. A MOTION was made by Chairman David Blaydes to approve open session minutes from March 12 2019 seconded by Commissioner Mark Wright The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. Review open session minutes from March 20, 2019 A MOTION was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to approve open session minutes from March 20 2019 seconded by Chairman David Blaydes The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote Discuss 2019 BOFP CAPS Nomination Form received dates and necessary information to update forms - decided to share the nomination forms with public to get a larger pool Review closed session minutes from March 12, 2019 City of Naperville Page 1 Printed on 4/30/2019 Board of Fire and Police Meeting Minutes March 26, 2019 A MOTION was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to approve closed session minutes from March 12, 2019 seconded by Commissioner Mark Wright. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. Review closed session minutes from March 20, 2019 A MOTION was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to approve closed session minutes from March 20, 2019 seconded by Chairman David Blaydes. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. F. REPORTS: 1. Police Department Report RTF training completed - Grant almost depleted, many departments came to observe the training Retirement of Ken Gettemy Attended Benchmark Cities Conference - Chiefs from 30 other similar cities get together to share statistics/ideas/recruitment - recruitment continues to be a struggle not just for Naperville but the country as a whole 2. Fire Department Report Congratulations to Amy Scheller on her promotion St Baldrick’s has raised 1.5 million plus in the 5 years we have participated 3 full cardiac arrests FD saved 2 of 3, NFD has a 24% save rate, national average is 12% NFD has 1 CPR machine in every district cost is $14000 each, decidedly very worth it G. CLOSED SESSION: H. ACTION ITEMS: A MOTION was made to return to open session from closed session by Chairman David Blaydes seconded by Commissioner Mark Wright 5:03 p.m.3-26-19 The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. Recommendation and Review of FF/PM candidate(s) A MOTION was made by Commissioner Mark Wright to start Current Employer Checks on Firefighter/Paramedic Candidates #11 & #3 seconded by Commissioner Kim Widup. Recommendation and Review of Police Officer Candidate(s) A MOTION was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to advance Police Officer Candidates #12 & #16 to Medical evaluations seconded by Commissioner Mark Wright. A MOTION was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to make conditional offer with medical and current employer check to Police Officer Candidate #18 seconded by Chairman David Blaydes. The motion carried with a 2 to 1 voice vote. I. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION FOR ADJOURNMENT 5:06 3-26-19 1ST Commissioner Mark Wright 2nd Chairman David Blaydes.
