A. CALL TO ORDER:
I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for December 8,
2020 to order.
Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the
continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor
Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings
are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19
pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission
meeting remotely.
The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in
different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and
steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one
another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided
notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to
contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes
shall be taken by roll call.

A motion was made by Commissioner Widup and seconded by Commissioner
Davidson to approve the open session minutes from November 10, 2020

F. REPORTS:
1. Police Department Report
Robbery at the Shell off 59 and a Walgreens was burglarized; separate
incidents
Preparing for the lateral interviews with the first 10 candidates
Excellent interview with Rich Waszack
Lost 1 probation officer in training; Daniel Terrell did not pass the program
Next academy is in March

2. Fire Department Report
Continuing to maintain a steady call volume
Minimal structure fires
Roll-over on I-88; individual transported to the hospital with multiple
fractures
Had a fantastic Memorial tribute to the Naperville Firefighters
Chief Jim Kabinski has accepted a Chief position in Texas; he will be with
the department until mid-end January
There will be promotions coming up including filling Chief Kabinski’s
position
Continuing to transport COVID positive patients; have relayed numbers to
DuPage County Health, about 75% of Firefighters willing to take the
vaccine
G. CLOSED SESSION:

A motion was made by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner
Widup to continue in the process police officer candidate #1

A Motion was made by Commissioner Davidson and seconded by Commissioner
Young to keep the April 23, 2019 and May 14, 2019 closed session minutes
restricted and retain restriction and to destroy the tapes
