CALL TO ORDER: I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for January 26, 2021 to order. Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission meeting remotely. The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes shall be taken by roll call. B. ROLL CALL: Present 5- David Blaydes, Kim Widup, Mark Wright, Ronald Davidson, and Kirsten Young C. PUBLIC FORUM: No members of the public attended D. REPORTS: 1. Police Department Report PD has been busy with planning and preparing after the Capitol protests Car jackings have been on the rise; Dodge Chargers have been the biggest targets 1 ruse burglary of an elderly couple; cash and jewelry stolen from their home PD Lateral interviews on February 4th 2. Fire Department Report Chief Kubinski retired January 29th; had an informal swearing for Bureau Chief Sergeant and Lieutenant Morris Deputy Chief Scheller, Division Chief Salela and Bureau Chief Kubinski, Giannattasio and Moran all received their Fire Officer Designations New Administrative Assistant starting February 1st Customer Service Assistant position is open Doing well with vaccines; hitting 70% received G.
