F. REPORTS:
1. Police Department Report
Recent armed car-jacking and armed robbery; both under investigation
Responded to shots fired at downtown parking lot off of Jackson Ave; no
injuries, still under investigation
Sent teams down to Highland Park to assist
71 illegal firearms have been taken off the street year to date

2. Fire Department Report
Recently had accreditation visit; got approved for 6th consecutive cycle
Received new ladder truck at station 7
Recent retirement of Deputy Chief Amy Scheller and upcoming retirement
of Captain Rick Zakaras
Up to 8,500 calls year to date; 71% of calls are EMS driven
10 new recruits have moved to the street and are progressing well

H. ACTION ITEMS:
Approve continuing in the process police officer original appointment candidate #1
A motion to approve continuing in the process police officer original appointment
candidate #1 was DENIED by Commissioner Abubaker and seconded by
Commissioner King. Candidater #1 was removed from the process.

A motion was made by Commissioner King and seconded by Commissioner
Wright.

Approve continuing in the process firefighter/paramedic candidate #87
A motion to approve continuing in the process firefighter/paramedic candidate
#87 was DENIED by Commissioner Davidson and seconded by Commissioner
Abubaker. Candidater #87 was removed from the process.

Review and approve the executive summary closed session minutes from February 9,
2021
A motion was made by Commissioner King and seconded by Commissioner
Davidson.
