CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm. B. ROLL CALL: Present 7- Jim Bergeron, Alex Jacobs, Linda Kuhn, Bradford Miller, Nate Wilson, Phillip Green, and Jeffrey Hild Absent 2- Brian Palm, and Diana Hawken Also present: Geneace Williams, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager; Diya Menon, Student Representative; Rayaan Talha, Student Representative C. PUBLIC FORUM: None D. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Approve the Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission Minutes of November 6, 2023. Commissioner Bergeron motioned to approve the Human Rights & Fair Housing Commission meeting minutes of November 6, 2023, seconded by Commissioner Miller. The motion was approved and carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Bergeron, Jacobs, Kuhn, Miller, Wilson, Green, and Hild Absent: 3- Jaiswal, Palm, and Hawken E. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Receive Commission Member Training Chairman Miller called upon Naperville staff liaison Geneace Williams to facilitate training for commission members. Williams began by providing an opportunity for the newest commission members (Phillip Green and Jeffrey Hild) to introduce themselves, followed by the previously sitting commissioners introducing themselves to the newest members. Williams then reviewed meeting dates (as previously approved by the commission) and the location of HRFH commission meetings. Williams also reviewed Title 12 of the Municipal Code with the commissioners, which provides the duties and responsibilities of the commission. F. ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Bergeron moved to adjourn the regular Human Rights & Fair Housing Commission meeting of January 8, 2024, at 7:35 pm, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs.
