CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Kovener called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. B. ROLL CALL: Present 8- Rebecca Obarski, Jaqueline Clermont, Vicki Coletta, Richard Grimes, Melvin Kim, Gary Kovener, Deana Losurdo, and Colleen McQuillan Absent 4- Shannon Greene Robb, Donna Kearney, Cindy Lo (Student Member), and Ganesan Narayanan (Student Member) Staff present: Shebnem Ozkaptan, Budget and Administrative Coordinator Dawn Portner, Special Events Coordinator C. PUBLIC FORUM: No speakers under Public Forum D. OLD BUSINESS: 18-854 Approve the SECA Commission Workshop Minutes of September 15, 2018 Attachments: Draft SECA Workshop Minutes September 15 2018 A motion was made by Commissioner Clermont. seconded by Commissioner McQuillian to approve the minutes of Saturday, September 15, 2018. The Motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- Obarski, Clermont, Coletta, Grimes, Kim, Kovener, Losurdo, and McQuillan Absent: 2- Greene Robb, Kearney, Lo (Student Member), and Narayanan (Student Member) E. City of Naperville Page 1 Printed on 12/21/2018 SECA Commission Meeting Minutes October 3, 2018 Commissioner Kim entered the meeting at 6:11 p.m. Each grant application was reviewed by the Commission and a preliminary unified recommendation was determined. Commissioner Grimes entered the meeting at 7:02 p.m. Chairman Kovener called for a break from 8:40 p.m until 8:50 p.m. The Commission continued its deliberation on each grant application and a final unified recommendation was decided. See the attached Commissioners Combined Worksheet. Review the CY18 extension request from Jumping Off the Page and direct staff accordingly Attachments: Request for a Change in Scope - Jumping Off the Page Representatives from Jumping Off the Page submitted a request to extend the allocation they received for CY18 by one month. They have the opportunity to have the author of the book they are working with this year, but she will not be able to visit Naperville until January 2019 which will coincide with the release of her book, Wishtree. A motion was made by Commissioner McQuillan, seconded by Clermont to approve the extension. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- Obarski, Clermont, Coletta, Grimes, Kim, Kovener, Losurdo, and McQuillan Absent: 2- Greene Robb, Kearney, Lo (Student Member), and Narayanan (Student Member) F.
