CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Kovener called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. B. ROLL CALL: Also present: Vaishnavi Tetali - Student Member Staff present: Special Events Coordinator Dawn Portner C. PUBLIC FORUM: The following agencies presented their CY19 SECA Grant request or were available for questions: Julie Jancius - DuPage Symphony Orchestra Kimberlie Richter and Tiffany Brackermann - J.S. Bach (Naperville Symphony Orchestra) Mary Yockey - Jumping Off the Page Don Gingold - Summer Place Tyler Peterson - Naperville Jaycees Dave Mueller - Naperville Men's Glee Club - Questions Only Pete Paulsen - Exchange Club of Naperville Gary Leavenworth - Singing for Seniors Sarah Orleans - DuPage Children's Museum Neveen Michael and Barb Ryan - Young Naperville Singers Terry O'Dowd - West Suburban Irish Julie Cunningham and Donna Shaw - Naperville Woman's Club Jeffrey Cass - Brightside Theatre - Questions Only D. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Approve the SECA Commission Meeting Minutes of October 3, 2018 Commissioner Kim made a motion, seconded by Councilwoman Obarski to approve the SECA Commission meeting minutes of Wednesday, October 3, 2018. 2. Review and make final recommendations for the CY19 SECA Grant Fund award allocations The Commission reviewed the CY19 recommendations made at the October 3, 2018 SECA meeting and the following funding recommendations were agreed to by consensus: The following projects received additional funding for CY19: - DuPage Symphony Orchestra 2019 Summer Concerts was increased by $5,686 - Final recommendation: $8,686 City of Naperville Page 1 Printed on 6/20/2019 SECA Commission Meeting Minutes October 27, 2018 - Summer Place Theatre 2019 Season was increased by $6,000 - Final recommendation: $16,000 - DuPage Children's Museum Art in Hand project was increased by $58 - Final recommendation: $30,058 Total increase - $11,744 Chairmen Kovener called for a break from 10:00 a.m. to 10:14 a.m. The following projects received reduced funding for CY19: - Jeanine Nicarico GLOW Run was decreased by $1,000 - Final recommendation: $11,158 - Turkey Trot was decreased by $1,000 - Final recommendation: $14,181 - St Paddy's Day 5K was decreased by $1,000 - Final recommendation: $8,120 - India Day was decreased by $7,253 - Final recommendation: General event $0, City Services $33,507 - Christkindlmarket was decreased by $1,491 - Final recommendation: General event $0, City Servcies $70,000 Total decrease - $11,744 The Commission balanced requests in all grant categories for CY19. E. NEW BUSINESS: There were no items dicussed under New Business. F.
