CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Kim called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. B. ROLL CALL: Present 9- Vicki Coletta, Shannon Greene Robb, Richard Grimes, Donna Kearney, Melvin Kim, Deana Losurdo, Colleen McQuillan, Theresa Sullivan, and Nancy Turner Absent 1- Jaqueline Clermont Also present: Student Commissioner Vaishnavi Tetali Staff present: Dawn Portner, Special Events Coordinator C. PUBLIC FORUM: Julie Kornak, Executive Director of the Brightside Theatre, distributed information about their production of A Christmas Carol which runs from November 29 - December 15. D. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Approve the SECA Commission meeting minutes of July 8, 2019 A motion was made by Commissioner McQuillan, seconded by Commissioner Losurdo to approve the meeting minutes of July 8, 2019. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 8- Coletta, Greene Robb, Grimes, Kearney, Kim, Losurdo, McQuillan, Sullivan, and Turner Absent: 1- Clermont 2. Discuss and recommend how to reallocate the remaining CY19 funding awarded to Christkindlmarket Commissioner Greene Robb suggested moving the remaining funds allocated to Christkindlmarket from CY19 to the underspend for 2019. Total funds available is $55,000. A motion was made by Commissioner Kearney, seconded by Greene Robb to move the remaining $55,000 of the CY19 Christkindlmarket award to the City of Naperville Page 1 Printed on 10/16/2019 SECA Commission Meeting Minutes July 29, 2019 underspend per SECA policy. Aye: 8- Coletta, Greene Robb, Grimes, Kearney, Kim, Losurdo, McQuillan, Sullivan, and Turner Absent: 1- Clermont E. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Finalize CY20 Cultural Amenities sub-category funding percentages A motion was made by Commissioner Greene Robb and seconded by Commissioner McQuillan to divide the CY20 discretionary funding and allocate 50% to Special Events and create the following sub-categories for Cultural Amenities: 5% Capital Projects/Permanent Structures 15% Visual Arts/Temporary Structures 40% Performing Arts 10% New Initiatives 30% Theme - Annual Call for Projects Aye: 8- Coletta, Greene Robb, Grimes, Kearney, Kim, Losurdo, McQuillan, Sullivan, and Turner Absent: 1- Clermont 2. Determine the theme for the CY20 SECA Grant Fund Call for Projects The Commission discussed a number of theme proposals and chose "Come Together." Based on this decision, the following statement will be added to the SECA Grant Fund application: The theme for CY20 is "Come Together." Explain how your project relates to the theme. A motion was made by Coletta, seconded by McQuillan, to approve the theme of "Come Together" for the newly established Call for Projects initiative. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 8- Coletta, Greene Robb, Grimes, Kearney, Kim, Losurdo, McQuillan, Sullivan, and Turner Absent: 1- Clermont F.
