CALL TO ORDER: The Chairman called the meeting to order at 6:51 pm. B. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: ARISTA WANG, BECKY RUDOLPH, LANCE FUHRER, SOPHIA LUO, NEELAM SABOO (ARRIVED AT 6:59 PM) ABSENT: BILL DONOFRIO, ALAN LOWE, VIDYA JOSHI C. PUBLIC FORUM: There were no speakers under public forum. D. OLD BUSINESS: E. REPORTS: Approve Sister Cities minutes of July 13, 2022 Motion was made by Becky Rudolph to approve Sister Cities minutes of July 13, 2022, seconded by Arista Wang. Motion passes by voice vote. Receive and file the Treasure’s report for July 2022 Commissioner/Treasurer Saboo was not present during this portion of the meeting. Approve having a liquor vendor at the festival and fencing around the community concert center Sister Cities unanimously approved having Belgio's Catering offer liquor at the festival. Due to having liquor for the event, the area must be fenced in to prevent visitors from leaving the area with alcohol. SISTER CITY FOUNDATION UPDATE: SHAFEEK ABUBAKER Shafeek Abubaker reviewed the list of vendors. There will be approximately 20 vendors offering market goods, food and desserts. Alan will apply for tent permit, and complete any of the necessary paperwork required for this event. CHAIRMAN UPDATE: LANCE FUHRER Chairman Fuhrer reviewed the budget to make sure that we are operating within our means. ENTERTAINMENT: SOPHIA LUO Sophia Luo has provided a brief entertainment update as well as a review of the program. AWARD CEREMONY: BECKY RUDOLPH Becky Rudolph provided a list of seven names who are nominees to receive an award at the upcoming Hispanic Heritage Festival. She has prepared an award certificate and will work with Rachel Pruneda to get these completed in time for the festival. SISTER CITY UPDATE: ALAN LOWE Alan Lowe was not present to provide the Sister City Update. COUNCIL LIAISON: COUNCILWOMAN GUSTIN Councilwoman Gustin will handle any media calls with regards to the festival. F. NEW BUSINESS: There was no New Business. G.
