A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Fuhrer called the meeting of the Sister Cities Commission to order at
6:31 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: LUO, LOWE, SABOO, CHAMBERLAIN, MANI, RUDOLPH, WANG
OTHERS PRESENT: COUNCILWOMAN GUSTIN, RACHEL PRUNEDA
C. PUBLIC FORUM:
There were no speakers under Public Forum.

Approve Sister Cities Commission minutes of September 14, 2022
Commissioners Chamberlain moved and Rudolph seconded to approve the
minutes of September 14, 2022. Motion passed by voice vote. AYES (7): Luo,
Lowe, Saboo, Chamberlain, Mani, Rudolph and Wang NAYS: (0)
Report out by the Commissioners on vendors, payments, entertainment, ticket sales, etc
Commissioners Saboo and Lowe are working on completing all the necessary
paperwork as required by SECA for the funds that were provided for the festival.
CHAIRMAN REPORT - LANCE FUHRER
Chairman Fuhrer asked the Commissioners how are we trying to engage with
our residents and bring awareness to the community as to what Sister Cities
goals are.
Chairman Fuhrer also reviewed some of the costs associated with the festival.
Shared ideas on how to cut the cost on the fencing. He would like to use those
cost savings to purchase a banner.

Commission Lowe shared that there is a National Art Contest in March and

suggested that we look for a business to sponsor this event.
F. NEW BUSINESS:
Review and approve a calendar schedule at each meeting for special events planned
throughout the year
Commissioner Rudolph proposed creating a calendar for the year of upcoming
events to raise awareness in the community. Some of the ways we can
promote ideas is having articles in Positively Naperville and creating facebook
posts. Adding that it would be a great tool to keep up forward thinking.
Motion was made to add a calendar item to the agenda. Motion passed by voice
vote.
G. ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Chamberlain motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m., seconded
by Chairman Saboo. Motion passed by voice vote: AYES (7): Luo, Lowe,
Saboo, Chamberlain, Mani, Rudolph and Wang NAYS: (0)

22-1231 Review and approve a calendar schedule at each meeting for special
events planned throughout the year
