May is National Water Safety Month and the New Orleans Health and Human Services Department,

and death this summer and year-round. Big Easy Swim Easy is a water safety and drowning prevention
initiative launched by the City in 2024. This important safety initiative represents a coordinated effort
across City departments and partner organizations. During this session, department leadership will
discuss the need for such an initiative, outline their respective roles, present mid-program outcomes, and
offer recommendations for future efforts.
