BOARD OF ETHICS
Council Chambers
October 22, 2015 – 5:30 p.m.
The Board of Ethics meeting was held on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the Village Hall. The
meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chairman Gaudio.
Members Present: Staff Present:

Approval of Minutes
Mr. Ostrega made a motion, seconded by Ms. Bagley, to approve the minutes of the July 16,
2015, meeting as amended; on voice vote all concurred.
New Business
Item #1 Attorney General Letter – Inspector General Christopher Cohen
Chairman Gaudio presented a joint letter written by Inspector General Cohen and Chairman
Gaudio to the Board of Ethics. Inspector General Cohen provided a detailed explanation of the
content of the letter and his past experience with the local election process. Ms. Bagley stated she
understands the concepts in this letter and that it’s clearly written. Mr. Ostrega indicated that
there are certain limitations that the law creates. Inspector General Cohen stated that there is no
constitutional provision in this matter. Inspector General Cohen wanted to make sure that the
Board of Ethics members are able to fully understand the matter and speak to it in their own
words should they be questioned by others.

A meeting is tentatively scheduled for November 19, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the large conference
room on the second floor.
Adjournment
Motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Ostrega seconded by Ms. Bagley; all concurred and the
meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
