FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES VILLAGE OF NILES, ILLINOIS October 6, 2015, 4:00 P.M. 1000 Civic Center Dr. Niles, IL 60714 Chairman Valle called the regular monthly meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. and took roll call. Present: Chairman Valle, Commissioner Mueller, Commissioner Pacheco, Fire Chief Borkowski, Police Chief McEnerney. Absent: Village Attorney Annunzio. Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the September 1, 2015 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Mueller. Second: Commissioner Pacheco. Yeas: Chairman Valle, Commissioner Mueller, Commissioner Pacheco. Nays: . Abstain:. Correspondence: None. Old Business: Sergeant promotional written examination is scheduled for October 27, 2015 at Niles Fire Station 2. Eight (8) candidates have signed up for the exam but only three (3) have submitted the required transcript to date. New Business: Police sergeant interviews will be scheduled for November 16 and/or 17, 2015 from 4 to 6 P.M depending on the total number of candidates. Discussion about the issues related to visible tattoos for police officers and firefighters. Discussion about instituting a lateral transfer program. The regular meeting was closed at 4:17 P.M. and opened in Executive Session per 5 ILCS 120/2 (1) Personnel. Motion: Commissioner Mueller. Second: Commissioner Pacheco.
