FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES VILLAGE OF NILES , ILLINOIS July 11, 2019 7000 W. Touhy Avenue Niles, IL 60714 Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. and took roll call. Present: Commissioner Borkowki, Commissioner Pacheco, Chairman Mueller, District Chief Greiner and Deputy Chief Penze. Absent: Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the June 6, 2019 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco. Second: Commissioner Borkowki. Yeas: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain:. Correspondence: None. Old Business: None. New Business: Discuss Firefighter hiring. Ten candidates where being contacted for polygraph exams. Six or seven are in process of scheduling. Discuss Firefighter/Paramedic hiring rules. Discuss Police hiring. A second lateral application round has been completed. Fifteen to twenty applications have been received. Vetting process to begin on the received applications. The regular meeting was closed at 10:07 A.M. and opened in Executive Session per 5 ILCS 120/2 (1) Personnel. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco. Second: Commissioner Borkowki. Yeas: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain:. The Executive Session opened at 10:07 A.M. to discuss Fire and Police personnel matters. The regular meeting was reconvened at 10:09 A.M. The next regular monthly meeting of the Commission is scheduled for August 1, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. The regular meeting was adjourned at 10:09 A.M.
