FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES VILLAGE OF NILES , ILLINOIS October 10, 2019 7000 W. Touhy Avenue Niles, IL 60714 Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order at 10:07 A.M. and took roll call. Present: Commissioner Borkowki, Commissioner Pacheco, Chairman Mueller, District Fire Chief Greiner, Police Chief Tigera and Trustee Dean Strzelecki. Absent: Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the September 16, 2019 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco. Second: Commissioner Borkowki. Administering two Oaths of Offices for fire candidates and one Oath of Office for Lieutenant at October 22, 2019 board meeting. Waiting to process another candidate based on a disability disposition of a current Firefighter/Paramedic. Seven additional candidates are being sent for polygraphs. Discuss Police hiring. Administering two Oaths of Offices for police candidates at October 22, 2019 board meeting. Discuss proposed amendments to the Fire and Police Commission Rules and Regulations regarding the probationary period of Police Officers, vetting process for candidates and quorum requirements. Voted to adopt agreed upon amendments. The regular meeting was closed at 10:31 A.M. and opened in Executive Session per 5 ILCS 120/2 (1) Personnel. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco.
