Village of Niles General Government / IT Committee Meeting Summary December 6, 2017 The following Voting Persons were in attendance: Chair George D. Alpogianis, Village Manager Steve Vinezeano and IT Director Bill Shaw. Staff present were: Steve Cusick, Katy Darr, Mitch Johnson, Ross Klicker, Kathy Thake and Cathy Spadoni. I. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 8:56 a.m. in Room 218 at the Niles Administration Building. II. Approve Meeting Summary – November 8, 2017 Bill Shaw made a motion, seconded by Steve Vinezeano, to approve the summary of the November 8, 2017 meeting. On voice vote, all concurred. III. New Business a. Employee Handbook Amendment – ARTICLE VII – EMPLOYMENT CONDUCT This section of the Employee Handbook was amended to bring it into compliance with new State law. The changes have been reviewed by our labor attorney. Bill Shaw made a motion, seconded by Steve Vinezeano, to present this amendment to the Village Board for approval. On voice vote, all concurred. IV. IT Project Updates The IT Department is involved in several projects, with the budget process taking priority. Bill Shaw will meet with Chair Alpogianis to review the proposed budget. V. Open Discussion / Public Comment a. Chair Alpogianis invited the General Government and IT staffs to Kappy’s for the annual holiday get-together. The date is to be determined. b. The Village’s holiday party is this Friday, December 8 at Play & Spin. c. Village products (ornaments, pens, etc.) are on display and available for purchase at Village Hall. The online store is underway. VI. Next Meeting The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. VII. Adjournment Chair Alpogianis made a motion, seconded by Bill Shaw, to adjourn the meeting at 9:02 a.m. On voice vote, all concurred.
