PUBLIC ARTS & CULTURE ADVISORY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING SUMMARY August 3, 2016 4:45 p.m. Master Plan Subcommittee members present: Chair Lindsay Brubaker – Niles Park District Mary Dowd Demas – Artist Debi Gajewski – Artist Carol Luc – Artist Staff present: Village Manager and Project Manager Steven Vinezeano Staff Liaison Cathy Spadoni I. Call to Order Chair Lindsay Brubaker called the meeting of the Public Arts & Culture Advisory Council to order at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Village of Niles Administration Building, 1000 Civic Center Drive. II. Presentation of Arts & Culture Master Plan Proposals a. Solomon Cordwell Buenz – Christine Carlyle and Teresa Fourcher Ms. Carlyle and Ms. Fourcher presented their approach to creating an Arts and Culture Master Plan for the Village of Niles. b. The Lakota Group – Kevin Clark, Nicholas Kalogeresis Jon Pounds – Mr. Jon Pounds Bluestone + Associates – Paul Bluestone Mr. Clark, Mr. Kalogeresis, Mr. Pounds and Mr. Bluestone presented their approach to creating an Arts and Culture Master Plan for the Village of Niles. III. Post-Interview Discussion Subcommittee members compared presentations and came to a consensus as to which firm is better suited to create a master plan for the Village. At the August 8 regular meeting of the Public Arts & Culture Advisory Council, the subcommittee will present their findings and the full Council will vote on which firm to recommend to the Village Board for approval.  Public Arts & Culture Advisory Council August 3, 2016 IV.
