Victorine MINUTES PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE Village Hall Conference Rm 218 April 20, 2018 – 9:00 a.m. The Public Safety Committee meeting was held on Friday 20, 2018, at the second floor conference room of the Village Hall. The meeting was called to order at 09:00 a.m. by Chairman Strzelecki. Members Present: Trustee/Chairman D. Strzelecki Tony Fidanza Luis Tigera, Police Chief Marty Feld, Fire Chief Approval of Minutes: Chairman Strzelecki requested that the minutes be approved for the December 6, 2017 meeting. The motion was seconded by Chief Feld to approve the minutes, and on voice vote all concurred. New Business: A discussion was held on an ordinance which describes PSEBA benefits and how it relates to an emergencies and catastrophic injuries. Chairman Strzelecki made a motion to bring the ordinance before the Village Board for a vote. It was seconded by Chief Tigera, and on voice vote all concurred. Chief Tigera discussed the need for a permit that would require establishments to obtain a permit when hoisting a “Promotional Event.” This would provide the Niles Police advance notice allowing them the opportunity to properly prepare. It was recommended by the committee that the proposal should go to legal for review.
