Victorine PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 11, 2015 Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:34pm. Roll call was taken and Danette O’Donovan Matyas, Mary Anderson, Fred Braun and Dan Balzano were all present. Approval of Minutes – June 30, 2015 Meeting A motion was made to approve the minutes and seconded. Aye – 4 Nay -0 Old Business Item One: Notre Dame Parking The committee discussed the input received from the prior meeting and explained to the residents who were at the meeting what was potentially going to be proposed to resolve their concerns with the high volume of students parking in front of their homes. Several residents spoke at the meeting. The consensus feedback from the residents was an agreement with the committee’s intentions. The proposal from the committee is to pass an ordinance to allow for resident parking only on school days between the hours of 7 am and 9 am. Signs will be posted on Crain from Ozark to Merrill and on Ozanam from Greenleaf to Dempster if the Board approves the passing of this amended ordinance. Item Two: Nordica Parking Staff has had multiple meetings regarding parking in the Nordica, Dobson and Jonquil area. At the July meeting, residents spoke about not wanting any measures taken that would be overly restrictive to those who live on these streets. Some residents did speak to issues regarding an excessive number of cars parked on the street, however. Staff held multiple meetings to discuss possible options to alleviate the number of cars parked on the street. The committee explained that more research is needed before making a recommendation on how to proceed in this area. No residents spoke about having a concern with this decision. There were no public comments. The committee is hoping to have a final draft for proposal before the next Board Meeting. Item Two: Dumpster Ordinance The new Dumpster Ordinance was also discussed and the intent explained. There were no public comments. Adjournment A motion was made to adjourn and seconded at 7:18pm.
