Consideration and Possible Action of Order 2026-03-015 An Order of the Council of the City of Nogales, Arizona, authorizing the retroactive application of the new in-kind support limit of one thousand five hundred ($1,500) to certain community event support requests approved by the Mayor and Council on March 4th, 2026. 7. City of Nogales Mayor and City Council Agenda March 10, 2026 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  Order No. 2026-03-014 AN ORDER OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOGALES, ARIZONA, REPEALING ANY PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION ESTABLISHING A ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR ($1,000) LIMIT FOR IN-KIND CITY SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS AND ESTABLISHING A NEW MAXIMUM LIMIT OF ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500) PER EVENT. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council previously established a limit of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) for in- kind City support for community events; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council desire to increase the allowable amount of in-kind support to better assist community events and organizations. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOGALES that: 1. Any prior Mayor and Council action establishing a $1,000 limit for in-kind City support is hereby repealed. 2. The Mayor and Council hereby establish a new maximum limit of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500) for in-kind City support for community events, unless otherwise approved by the Mayor and Council. 3. This Order shall become effective immediately upon adoption. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have approved increasing the maximum in-kind support limit for community events to $1,500; and WHEREAS, certain community event support requests were approved earlier during the same meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOGALES, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The revised $1,500 in-kind support limit shall be applied to the following support requests approved earlier during this meeting: o Nogales Half Marathon and Health Fair, requested by the 0S3 Movement, scheduled for April 25, 2026. o Eco Fiesta 2026, requested by the Calabasas Alliance (501(c)(3)), scheduled for April 18, 2026. o Mingus Jazz Festival, requested by Santa Cruz Advocates for the Arts, scheduled for April 18, 2026. 2. City staff are authorized to implement the revised in-kind support amount consistent with Mayor and Council direction. 3. This Order shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
