21 Chairman Schwall called the meeting to order in the Terrace Room of Village Hall, 1225 Cedar Lane, at
22 5:32 p.m.

25 Roll was established. There was a quorum.

27 Review of Minutes
28 Menn moved, seconded by chairman Schwall to approve the October meeting minutes as presented.
29 On a voice vote, there were all ayes, and the motion was unanimously approved.

31 Public Comments Regarding Items Not on the Agenda

34 1330 Shermer Road – Athletico Physical Therapy Wall Signs (VGO Design Review Permit)
35 Senior planner Kohlstedt briefed the Commission on the sign design and the VGO District Design
36 Standards. She noted that the Applicant is present to provide additional details. In response to a
37 question from Member Menn, Kohlstedt noted that the signs compiled with the zoning requirements as
38 the size did not exceed five (5%) of the square footage allotted for the unit and was below 20 feet in
39 height.
40 Chairman Schwall inquired about the location of the sign on the rear of the building and contended that
41 the sign should be moved to the center of the building. Ms. Kohlstedt noted that another sign
42 application was submitted for an adjacent space and it would be on the same face in the rear of the
43 building. Commission members discussed this point for some time and conclude it would look much
44 better if relocated to the center. The Applicant did not have an issue with having the sign relocated per
45 the board’s recommendation.

1 Chairman Schwall made a motion, seconded by Member Town to recommend approval for the three (3)
2 proposed wall signs for 1330 Shermer Road, pending the relocation of the sign on the façade of the
3 property. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.
4 New Single Family Home Elevations:
5 The ACC reviewed the information on the new single family home elevations. Member Urbanczyk noted
6 that the 1819 Summerton Place application did not present the required number of neighboring homes.
7 A motion was made by Member Menn, seconded by Urbanczyk to approve the six (6) single-family
8 home elevations as presented, subject to staff verifying that the 1819 Summerton Place was dissimilar
9 to adjacent homes.

15 f. 515 Alice Drive (R-3 District) – Town Studios, architect
16 On a voice vote, the motion passed with Member Town abstaining for the 2215 Oak Avenue property
17 and 515 Alice Drive properties.

23 Mr. Poupard noted that the Board reviewed recently reviewed the 1000 Skokie Boulevard – Life Time
24 Fitness Mixed Use Development (PCD-15-15) and it is expected that a formal vote will occur during the
25 December 8h Board meeting. This item was previously reviewed and approved during the October 8,
26 2015 ACC meeting.

29 There being no further business, Commissioner Schwall moved, to adjourn the meeting. On a voice
30 vote, the motion unanimously carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:11 pm.
