17 Call to Order & Welcome
18 Chair Ray Wehr called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the
19 North Suburban YMCA at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook.

24 Update on Entertainment for 2015 Event
25 Member Jasmine Lee gave an oral report concerning the entertainment acts who have
26 confirmed participation in the 2015 event. Included this year will be music and dance
27 groups featuring Bollywood fusion, Korean SoriBeat, Japanese Tsukasa Taiko, and
28 Chinese stunt Yo-Yo artist Ryan Shi.

30 Member Lee stated she is still waiting to receive confirmation from a Filipino dance
31 group, and hopes to hear later this week.

33 Member Hyun stated he is also in contact with a children’s dance group who has
34 expressed interest in the event, but has not yet confirmed participation.

36 General discussion took place concerning the confirmed artists, and if there would need
37 to be additional acts to fill the event timeframe. The subcommittee all agreed that the
38 confirmed acts would provide a good balance and fills the entertainment piece of the
39 event.

41 Update on Artisan Vendors for Event
42 Member Schultz stated he is confirming a Sumi-E artist to have artwork on display, and
43 will be working with the Midwest chapter to participate in the event.

45 Member Lenardi stated that they have the ABC classroom available for the kids activities
46 which is still in the process of being worked out.

47 Member Hyun stated he will look into Chinese calligraphy and see if they can participate
48 again this year.

50 Update on Food Vendors for Event
51 Member Lozaro gave an overview of the confirmed restaurants for the 2015 event. He
52 stated that the Pavilion and Golden Chef have confirmed participation, and that he was
53 still waiting to hear back from an Indian restaurant.

55 Member Hyun stated the Dundee Market and Filipino Catering groups are on board, but
56 food would need to be ordered and picked up the day of the event. The subcommittee
57 agreed that these vendors would be a nice addition to the event.

59 Update on Promotion and Marketing
60 Staff Liaison Strong gave an update on the status of the flyer and press release. The
61 event time was confirmed for the event, and all agreed that promotion would be drafted
62 and presented during the next subcommittee meeting.

64 Update on Budget
65 Chair Ray Wehr stated that the preliminary budget would be between $1,250 and $1,500
66 depending on the final acts that commit to the event. He asked for a motion to approve
67 the purchase of banners, on said motion by Member Lee, seconded by Member Hyun, all
68 voted in favor of purchasing two banners for the event.

70 General discussion took place concerning the placement of banners and other media
71 outlets.

79 Scheduling of Next Meeting
80 Chair Ray Wehr stated that the next meeting will take place on Monday, March 23, at
81 5:30 p.m. at the North Suburban YMCA.

84 A motion was made by James Hyun, seconded by Bob Lozaro, to adjourn the meeting at
85 7:35 p.m. On a voice vote, the motion carried unanimously.
