1 Minutes of a Meeting of the 2 Northbrook Community Relations Commission 3 Interfaith Sunday Subcommittee 4 Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Northbrook Village Hall 5 6 Present: Chair Chris Kosla, and subcommittee members; Mary Hanson, Alice Lonoff, Bob 7 Lozaro, Ron Mantegna, and Dr. Rochelle Singer. Village Representative: Staff Liaison 8 Michael Strong. 9 10 Call to Order / Purpose of Meeting. Chairman Kosla called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The 11 purpose of the meeting was to discuss and wrap up the April 19th Interfaith Sunday event. 12 Discussion. 13 o Try to have more advance notice and try not to have piece meal communication 14 o Have preliminary requests 15  Mapping documentation (ie contacts/summary) 16  Passport updates 17  Have Clergy lock in earlier 18  Difficult for prepping during Holy Week 19 o Need Clergy Association to be more active participants 20 o Some feedback was we should have Mosque, Techny Towers 21 o Sign-in Sheet have fax number, HOW (House of Worship) and Date 22 o Include action plan in bag that is provided to HOW 23 o Youth group involvement 24  Discuss at kickoff and we may faciliate 25  Partner with Youth Commission 26 o Shorter Event 27 o Cap the organized tour time frame 28 o Move event to another date/time? 29 o Provide Suggestions of what can be done during the opening 30 o Have HOW/GBN, Village Summer help create video 31 o Positives of event 32  Prepared for meetings 33  Good distribution of tasks 34  Attendees were extremely enthusiastic 35  Music for kick off was a great touch 36  Donated prizes 37  Ron did a great job to involve group 38  Food was a good touch 39  CRC involvement at the party 40  Passport 41  App was nice 42  St. Giles was a great location 43  QR Reader 44  Shirts were nice 45  Having Sandy and Fire Chief there for the whole event 46  Publicity - it was excellent 47 o Improvements 48  Sign Up Sheet 49  Add HOW 50  Fax back nbr and Email 51  Date 52  Coordinate with at least one HOW of every denomination (Mosque, Techny, 53 Temple, etc.) 54  Banner at Each HOW (Pink Flamingo??) 55  Get food earlier - Sunset 56  Order 1 Banner for Kick off Location 57  Add additional Banner to the main ones that will provide location and time 58 information 59  Change Bingo Title in passport 60  To: House of Worship Visa 61  Broader, more active Clergy involvement for the event 62  More youth involvement 63  uniform format communication (ie more clear email subject lines) 64  Identify one person to be in charge of Passport (getting info and proofing) 65 o Recommendations 66  Event should be every 4 years (Chris to add to Clergy agenda) 5 yes, 1 NO(Bob - 67 recommends discontinue) 68  Need Clergy Active participation 69  Other events in the meantime? 70  Fr.
