CAPITOL ST ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2026 AT 8:30 AM DENNIS SHORT, CHAIRMAN PRESIDING Call to Order Approve Agenda A motion was made by Commissioner Jaskiewicz to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Short, all approved. Approval of Minutes 3.1. Minutes from the October 23rd, 2025, Meeting A motion was made by Commissioner Jaskiewicz to approve the October 23rd, 2026 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Short, all approved. Public Input Consent Agenda A motion was made by Commissioner Jaskiewicz to receive and file these reports. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Short, all approved. 5.1. PD - pre employment credit check, $12.60 5.2. PD - pre-employment exam, $175.00 5.3. PD - pre-employment physical, $825.77 5.4. PD - pre-employment exam, $495.00 Unfinished Business New Business  7.1. FD - Probationary Reports There are currently two employees whose performances are being reviewed for potential improvement plans. No action has been done yet. The firefighters currently in paramedic school are progressing well and have received good feedback from instructors. 7.2. PD - Probationary Reports Two officers were released to solo patrol and are doing well. The department hired a lateral officer from Peoria Police Department roughly three weeks ago. He is currently in the FTO phase and expected to progress quickly as he's an very experienced officer. 7.3. FD - Promotional Testing The department's promotional testing is scheduled for March 24th and 26th. Commissioner interviews will be held on March 24th, beginning at 8am. The written exam will be held on March 26th, but Commissioners are not required to attend this portion of testing. Executive Session - Executive Session 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) Any Other Business to Come Before the Commission The Police Department wanted to make the Commissioners aware that one of our newer officers who was recently released to solo patrol will be deployed in February and expected to return in late fall. They will be asking the Commission for an extension of his probation once he returns from deployment. Adjourn
