WHISKEY TACO 507 COURT STREET PEKIN, ILLINOIS PRESENT: COUNCIL MEMBER CHRIS ONKEN, COUNCIL MEMBER DAVID NUTTER, MAYOR PRO TEM KAREN HOHIMER AND MAYOR MARY BURRESS ABSENT: COUNCI MEMBER RICK HILST, COUNCIL MEMBER LLOYD ORRICK, FIRST ALTERNAT MAYOR PRO TEM JOHN ABEL ********************************************************************************** Notice was posted on March 3, 2025 of a special meeting under the provisions of the Open Meetings Act on the City of Pekin website and at 507 Court Street. More than 3 members of the Council expressed interest in attending the MainStreet Meeting. Special guest Attorney Tom Howard spoke to those in attendance of his company’s planned operation of a new adult-use cannabis dispensary at 359 Court Street. Attorney Howard answered questions from the members, the public and Council Members. Questions regarding the use of the additional square footage of the building; security measures of the premises; the source of the products being sold; signage that could or could not be used in compliance with strict federal and state regulations were addressed by Attorney Howard. There was no action taken by Council. Council Members Onken, Nutter, Hohimer and Mayor Burress left the MainStreet meeting. COUNCIL ADJOURNED AT 4:50 P.M. Sue E. McMillan City Clerk
