City of Pekin PROCEEDINGS OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF PEKIN, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL 111 S. CAPITOL ST ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2025 AT 8:30 AM Call to Order Approve Agenda A motion was made by Jennifer to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded by Brian, all approved. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Brian to approve the September 5th, 2025, meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Jennifer, all approved. Public Comments (Each speaker will be limited to 3 minutes) -Citizen Warren Sharp spoke about requesting a no semi sign on Lakeshore Dr. He said there are too many semis using Lakeshore as a cut through to their destinations and would like a sign installed to help reduce traffic. -Dan Shipman once again spoke about his request for parking along Park Ave. from Garden to Court St. This has already been ruled on by the City Council. Unfinished Business New Business 6.1. Street parking concerns - 11th St.: State St. to Charlotte. The committee discussed this area. A motion was made by Jennifer to table this item until the committee has a change to inspect it more thoroughly. The motion was seconded by Cameron, all approved. 6.2. Slow Children Playing Sign Request - Sierra Dr. The committee discussed this street. The consensus was that before a decision is made, the committee will find out which block the citizen was requesting this sign for, as this is a fairly long street. This item will be discussed at the next meeting. A motion was made by Jennifer to table this item. The motion was seconded by Brian, all approved.  6.3. No Box Truck sign request - Lakeshore Dr. The committee discussed this item and decided they are in need of more information on the area and surrounding businesses receiving deliveries. A motion was made by Brian to table this item until the next meeting. The motion was seconded by Jennifer, all approved. Any Other Business to Come Before the Committee Adjourn
