Next Steps Mission Statement - DRAFT The Portland Harbor Non-Federal Dredge Workgroup (NFD) seeks to dredge the private and municipal piers and wharfs of Portland Harbor. The dredging of berths and disposal of spoils will be economically feasible, environmentally sound, and politically/socially acceptable; and, will be planned and conducted with the knowledge, participation, and input of permitting agencies, advocacy groups, the fishing industry, and impacted communities of Portland, South Portland and the Islands of Casco Bay.
