MAYOR'S REPORT I attended the Police Awards Banquet, congratulations to the award recipients. I attended the Rotary Top 10 Dinner, congratulations to the students who were recognized. Thanks to all who came out for our first park party of the season. Congratulations to Edward Jones who held their ribbon cutting today. I will be attending the RHS Awards Assembly tomorrow morning. I will be meeting with the AVM Student Council students tomorrow. The Mentor Club will be holding a Dodgeball Tournament on May 20th at the Friendship Center to benefit Harvest Saturday. Fish with a Firefighter will be held on May 21st from 9:00-1:00. Cruisin the Square will be held on May 26th at the Athletic and Event Center. Village offices will be closed on Monday, May 30th in observance of Memorial Day. Congratulations to the Clean Up Week Poster Contest winners. His son was one of the recipients. Congratulations to all of the graduates. PH16-2208 A Public Hearing on an Ordinance Authoring the Execution of a First Amendment to an Existing Annexation Agreement (First Amendment dated May 18, 2016 ("Amendment") to Annexation Agreement dated 8/15/01 by and between the Village of Romeoville, an Illinois Municipal Corporation and Robert F. Wagner ("Owner") and Seefried Industrial Properties ("Developer") A motion was made by Trustee Chavez, seconded by Trustee Richards, that this Public Hearing be opened. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Micklevitz, and Trustee Clancy Non-voting: 1- Mayor Noak Public Hearing Village of Romeoville Page 3 Printed on 6/15/2016 Village Board Meeting Minutes May 18, 2016 A motion was made by Trustee Clancy, seconded by Trustee Richards, to close the public hearing. CLERK'S REPORT Attended the Airport Rd/I-55/126 Community Advisory meeting on May 10th. Five alternative designs were discussed. There will be a public meeting this summer. Attended the Police Departments Award dinner at Mistwood. Congratulations to the award recipients. Attended the Enrichment Foundation Board meeting. The golf outing will be held on June 6th, Congratulations to Jack Koepke, the Police Officers that were recognized tonight, the Firefighter that was recognized and thank you to the Viet Nam War Veterans. 7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS Trustee Micklevitz-Uptown Square/Youth Outreach/Green Team The Youth Outreach Commission held their fund raiser this past Saturday. The commission raised $675.00 at the event. Thanks to Mike Littrell for donating his raffle winnings back to the Commission. One of the founding members, Colleen Fox, is moving on. She will be missed. The next meeting will be June 6th. Lot of progress in the Uptown Square. It is very exciting. Trustee Richards-Planning and Zoning/Zoning Board of Appeals/REMA Thanks to REMA for all that they do. Trustee Clancy-Beautification/Parks and Recreation A Recreation update was given. It was a tremendous evening watching the kids receive their awards for the Beautification Contest. Trustee Griffin-Veteran's/EDC The EDC will meet tomorrow morning. The Veteran's Commision will participate in the Memorial Day Service. Village of Romeoville Page 4 Printed on 6/15/2016 Village Board Meeting Minutes May 18, 2016 The next meeting will be July 19th. Trustee Palmiter-Finance/Humane Society/Special Events The next Special Events meeting will be July 12th. A Finance update was given. Trustee Chavez-Police and Fire/VorTv Thanks to Jack Koepke. He has been on the Fire and Police Commission for many years. VorTv is looking for new members. 8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT The work on the Route 53 Islands will begin next week. There will not be a Board Meeting on June 1st. The next meeting will be June 8th. 9. NEW BUSINESS A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Chavez, to do a consent agenda for all new business with the condition that RES16-2099 be approved subject to resolution of all outstanding recapture issues. BOARD COMMENTS Trustee Chavez- This weekend is Cop on a Roof Top to collect money for the Special Olympics Torch Run. Rockin the Ville will be held on June 9th. Fish with a Firefighter will be held on May 21st at Lake Strini. We just stocked this lake. Cruise Nights will be May 26th. Congratulations to the graduates, especially my daughter who graduated from Lewis University. Trustee Palmiter- Congratulations to the officers we honored this evening.
