Village of Romeoville 1050 W Romeo Rd Meeting Minutes Wednesday, July 18, 2018 6:48 PM Village Hall Board Room 1050 W. Romeo Rd Village Board Village Board Meeting Minutes July 18, 2018 Regular Meeting 1. CALL TO ORDER Roll Call Present 7- Trustee Jose Chavez, Trustee Linda Palmiter, Trustee Ken Griffin, Trustee Dave Richards, Trustee Brian A. Clancy Sr., Mayor John Noak, and Trustee Lourdes Aguirre 2. POSTING OF COLORS, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. PETITIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Janet Gardner- She was here in May concerning safety issues with the bike path. A lot of the issues were addressed and she is thankful for that. There is still an issue with the pot holes and cracks. She was hoping work could begin soon so that she can still enjoy it this summer. She also thanked the Village for taking care of the island. It was beautified today. There are still daily issues with the trucks. She met with Village staff concerning this and she gave some suggestions to help alleviate this. The road has become a highway now. She hopes that staff will look at her suggestions and get back with her. Rich Strom- We received quite a bit of rain the week of July 4th. Comcast was out in his yard digging holes. We were never notified that they were going to be doing this. He approached the guys who told him they were locating power lines. As the holes were being dug they were filling up with water. He spoke with a supervisor and informed him of this and asked them to put this off and was told no. Also, they were digging holes 12 feet in his yard. He called the Village and asked who oversees this project and was sent to Public Works. He explained the situation and was told that his information will be given to the supervisor. He then spoke to the Mayor's Office and within a short time of that phone call he received a call from Mark from Public Works. Mark is top notch. The Village is lucky to have him. He stopped the guys from digging. The workers filled the holes back in after telling Mark that they found the power. A few days later they were back again digging holes. Mark came back again and put a stop to it. The Village needs to have more oversight on these projects. 4.
